‘Superbad’ is super funny

Jonah Hill and Michael Cera star in SuperbadSuperbad has made quite a splash at the box office this summer, grossing over $68.6M domestically since it’s release just over a week ago. It’s also become one of the most hyped movies around and is currently ranked at #1 on IMDb’s MOVIEMeter Top 10 list. Critics are saying that it could usher in a new era in comedy and many have labeled it the best movie of the year.

“Trapped in the Closet” returns

R. Kelly's Trapped in the ClosetR. Kelly is back with more episodes of Trapped in the Closet, airing right now on IFC.com. For those who don’t know, Trapped in the Closet has become a musical sensation and made R. Kelly even more infamous than those sex tapes he made with underage girls. Billed as a “Hip-Hopera”, Trapped is the story of Sylvester (played by Kelly), a Chi-town gangsta who becomes a key participant in the scandalous world that surrounds him. The story line is like something out of Jerry Springer, but set to a simple melody that seems to keep going like the Energizer Bunny.

The Lonely Island hits the big screen with ‘Hot Rod’

The Dudes from TheLonelyIsland.com star in Hot RodHot Rod is the feature film debut from The Dudes of The Lonely Island. For those who might not know, The Lonely Island is a California comedy trio composed of Andy Samburg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer, who also directed Hot Rod. These three childhood friends began thelonelyisland.com and created various amazingly funny shorts and music videos. Since they joined the SNL crew, they have created some of the most memorable content in the show’s history with their Digital Shorts like “Lazy Sunday” AKA The Chronicles of Narnia Rap or their hilarious music video parody with Justin Timberlake, “Dick in a Box”.

Cast is best part of ‘Chuck and Larry’

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is another Happy Madison production brought to the big screen. The film is about two firefighters that have a gay relationship and go to a mountain to….wait, that’s not it. In this film, two straight firefighters Chuck (Adam Sandler) and Larry (Kevin James) pretend to be gay to secure pension money. There have been several scathing reviews of the film including one titled “I Now Pronounce You Stereotypical and Racist”.
