“You’re so beautiful, you could be a part-time model”

Amber wants to be a Top Model

I loved how CBS basically made fun of Amber on this past episode by showing all the times she’s said she could be a model. The ultimate was when they showed a clip of her saying, “I know I could go on top model because I have the face and the hair and the body… and the personality.” This was immediately followed by a shot of her looking not-so-supermodel-slim in her bikini. CBS also had shots of her shoving handfuls of pretzels into her mouth and talking about how she’s going to be on the cover of all the magazines when the show is over.

It reminded be of the Flight of the Conchords song that has the lyrics, “You’re so beautiful, you could be a part-time model, but you’d probably still have to keep your normal job.”

The entire montage on the show was so mean. Downright mean. CBS was totally humiliating her on tv….. but at the same time, it was really funny because Amber lives in her own little world where she’s Gisele Bunchen or the next Oprah.

The sad thing is, when the season is over, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her on the Tyra Banks show or some other daytime gab-fest talking about her life. If horrific role models like Paris Hilton can be rewarded for their stupidity and criminal behavior, I guess Amber should have her shot too.

I am not one for personal attacks on house guests but this was an exception. CBS needed to make it clear that they do not endorse what Amber said and neither should America. I have to wonder if that sequence of video was brought to us by the magic of editing. She might have said the comments but maybe she and Jameka were talking tongue in cheek. Whatever the reason is, I hope you are right and she does get some fifteen minutes of fame after the show is done. Between CBS showing her crying every other sentence, displaying her lack of vocabulary, and this most recent feature of her modeling aspirations Amber will not walk out of this house w/ the most positive image portrayed of her. She is an (former) addict and a mother. I want to see her at least walk away from this experience mentally better off in hopes she does not fall back into her old habits.

I haven’t seen that Flight of the Concord show but I remember you mentioned Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I stopped watching it a couple of years ago but I might watch it again after seeing this short w/ the actors of the show.

If the show is as funny as the short its definitely worth TiVoing.

On the Big Brother front, I haven’t seen the entire show yet but its been entertaining so far. I’ll wait until after I see the last 20 mins or so to make a final judgement but so far so good. And hey - after beating around the bush for the past month or so, Eric really went in for ‘the kill’ last night (or whenever it happened)!
