Danielle nominates Jen and Kail

What a surprise, Danielle nominated Jen and Kail. Lame. As Nick Swardson would say, her shit’s weak… wizzeak!

I was so badly hoping she’d really shake things up in the house, but she’s no Janelle and she totally took the easy road with this one. I’m so tired of her and Dick making stupid moves, yet acting like they’re experts at the game.

Now I hope Jen stays, wins HOH and gets Danielle out of there. Danielle is too weak, she didn’t fight for Nick, she didn’t make any big strategic moves, and her general conversation is boring. The only reason I liked her in the first place was because of her showmance with Nick. Now she’s just another boring HG. I want her gone before Dick, because at least Dick is a shit starter.

Nick is hot

By the way, I know this post has nothing to do with Nick, but I’d rather post a picture of him than one of Jen or Kail.

Nick evicted 7-2, Danielle is HOH

Nick was evicted in a 7-2 vote on tonight’s live episode. Here’s a picture of him looking sexy to remember him by.

Nick’s sexy smile

It’s going to be so hard for this show to keep my interest now that the Nerd Herd 2.0 has taken hold of the entire game.

The best part of the episode tonight was when they showed Amber sobbing and telling Nick she had no idea he was going on the block, then they cut to a clip of her telling Dustin to backdoor Nick. So… not only is Amber totally annoying and stupid, she’s also two faced. What a lovely woman.

Danielle is HoH

Anyway Danielle is HOH, so maybe something interesting will happen with her evictions.

My dream would be for Amber, Jameka or Dustin to get the boot this week because I am to the point where I can’t even watch them. Seriously, when I see Amber on the TV, I have to change the channel because I can’t stand looking at her puffy face as she cries over ridiculously stupid things. If she’s not sobbing uncontrollably, she’s talking at light speed and repeating herself while making up lies and claiming it’s for Jesus. I hate her ugly mouth, I hate her greasy hair, I hate her huge forehead and I hate her annoying meth-head way of speaking.

If Amber doesn’t go this week, I can only pray (no pun intended) that Jameka is evicted. She’s on par with Amber for being the most annoying person to play the game since Maggie from BB6. Jameka never talks beyond saying “mmm hmm” and nodding, then when she does decide to speak, she yells incredibly stupid phrases at the top of her lungs thinking it’s funny. Her voice is more annoying than playing a Britney Spears song on a loop for 10 years straight.

And don’t even get me started on the God thing!

It should be a pretty interesting week (if you can stomach another minute of this crap) of everyone in the house kissing Danielle’s ass and claiming they never wanted to vote Nick out. Everyone is going to pass the buck and not take any responsibility for their vote, claiming they were forced into it because it was “what the house wanted.”

My only other thought on tonight’s events is that I’m amazed the HOH competition only lasted a few hours. In the words of Walter from The Big Lebowski, these people are “fuckin’ amateurs”. Remember the long endurance contests of the past, the ones that lasted into the next morning? Now those were some real players, not these fucktards who think they’re going to be all-stars like Dr. Will or Kaysar.

Alright, I was watching BB, but this whole show is making me so sick to my stomach right now that I’m going to go watch 300. I just got it from Netflix.

Nick’s Britney make over

A lot of shit went down tonight… and of course it had to happen when I wasn’t watching! There were a ton of fights and Dick poured a drink on Jen’s head. Danielle yelled at her dad and Amber cried (big surprise). Anyway, the only thing that I can really show is that Nick gave himself a Mohawk. Here’s some pictures.

Nick’s make over 1

Nick shaving his head

Nick shaving his head 2

I wish Nick would stay because I think this is a sign that he’s ready to fight now. That could be a good thing if he’s still around because it might mean he’ll be brutal with his strategy and that would really make this show interesting again.

On the other hand… Nick shaving his head might mean that he’s gone totally crazy. After all, we have seen this type of thing before.

Shaved Britney Spears

Let’s just hope that, if he is evicted, he won’t go get some weird tattoos and then beat the shit out of a car with an umbrella.

The new Nerd Herd can suck it!!!

Nick shows off his guns ep1

Jameka used the veto to save Jen and Nick went up on the block. I’m sure he’ll be the one going home since everyone seems to think he’s been double dipping with his alliances. I didn’t put a picture of Jameka or Jen because I now hate both of them.

I also hate Dustin, Amber, and the rest of the Nerd Herd 2.0 and I’m disappointed that Danielle and the rest of Nick’s “friends” knew this was the plan and never told him.

It sucks that, for the past three seasons, my favorite player has been backdoored and evicted. Kaysar got it twice and now Nick. What is it with this show that the hot guys I really like can’t even make it to sequester?!

Since Nick’s gone, I don’t think I’m going to update this blog as frequently. I might return to just once a week updates on Thursday night or Friday after eviction.

But… I say that every year when my favorite person gets evicted, so we’ll see if it happens.

Week 4 quick updates

  • Dustin nominated Jen and Kail for eviction (sweet!!)
  • The POV competition is tomorrow. Jameka, Jessica and Danielle are playing.
  • As a result of the food competition, Nick, Dick, Kail, Jen and Zach are on slop.
  • There has been a lot of tension between Dick and Amber.
  • Dustin said Kail was not his target and that he wanted Jen or Nick (say it ain’t so) evicted first.

I’m going to be so pissed if Nick is evicted this week! He’s so hot and I think he’s totally funny too. If he goes, who will I have left? There will be no hot guys to look at and, as far as I’m concerned, that’s 40% of the reason to watch this show!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s Jen who gets the chop instead.

Sorry to keep this so short, but I’m trying to burn a DVD and watch BBAD on Showtime as I write.

The meek shall inherit the house

I’m happy that Dick did the right thing and nominated Mike to replace Jen after she used the veto to save herself. Mike is a key element of that trio (Mike/Jen/Kail) and removing him should be enough to eliminate them. Jen will float to another alliance and Kail will be gone within the next few weeks because no one wants to associate with her at all.

Dick and Dani talk about their pastIt seems like a lot of stuff went down while I was away from BB for my birthday. My favorite trio (Dick/Dani/Nick) seemed to fall apart a bit. Apparently everyone was fighting. Dick and Nick had a big blowout, Dani and Dick had a big conversation and she had a breakdown, and even Dani and Nick seemed to be pissed at each other. What has been going on around that house?

This reminds me so much of BB6 and BB7. In both those seasons, there was a solid dream team in the house that crumbled way too soon. Kaysar’s team (Kaysar/Janelle/Howie/James) was a perfect unit, a BB machine. It was like they were designed to play this game. Still, every year they all started to grow suspicious of each other and question each other constantly and it lead to a total break down of their alliance before we even hit sequester. If the strong team destroys itself, the whole game is left to the scavengers who thrive in that environment. Seeing Mike go up was such a relief for me. It meant that the good team would stick around, at least for another week.

I just didn’t want Kail and Jen to get in their heads and convince them to put up Zach instead of Mike. Eliminating Zach does nothing to push them forward in the game. Zach believes he’s with them, part of the cool team, and that’s exactly where they need to keep him to ensure that he’s not a threat to them. If Zach feels that he’s part of the team, then their enemies will become his enemies. If he wins HOH, he’ll go after Kail and what’s left of her alliance…. that is…. as long as he thinks that’s the best move for him and his group.

The only other concern I have is the Float Herd. In BB6, the strong team imploded on itself and the house was left to the Nerd Herd. Two of the worst people in BB history made it to the finals, while the good players sat in sequester. As much as I like Eric, Jameka, and Jessica, I think they’re flying under the radar and if they combine with Amber and Dustin, they could form the largest alliance in the house.

Right now, the strong players have to walk the line between getting out other threats and keeping the floaters in check. Otherwise, the BB meek will inherit the house.

We’ll see how it plays out.

BB Break

It’s my birthday, so I’m taking a little break from this blog for a couple days.

I know Dick and Danielle are fighting and he and Nick had some words last night, so maybe that’ll draw me back in. I want that alliance to stick together so the Nerd Herd 2.0 doesn’t take over the house. Alas, I think they’ll go the way of the Sovereign 6 for BB6 and end up imploding.

I plan to be back by eviction… or possibly sooner.

Jensa members on the block, Dick and Amber fight

Just a quick update…..

Dick is HoH

Dick nominated Kail and Jen (Awesome!!!)

Nominations could change depending on the results of the Veto competition. If so, then I hope Mike or Zach are nominated. Jen won the veto, but I didn’t see the point in making a new post about it. Dick has been saying that he will nominate Mike to replace her and that Mike will go home instead of Kail. That would be a good move, since Kail is pretty useless and Mike is the only one holding the Kail/Jen/Mike alliance together.

At the food competition they won a grill.

Earlier today, Danielle was telling Amber not to trust Nick. I’m not quite sure what to make of it. She still seems close with Nick, and he seems to be loyal to her, but something might have happened to drive a wedge in between them. I’ll post video if I find it.

I’m not quite sure where Amber stands, since she seems to be blabbing to everyone in the house. Today, there seemed to be a lot of tension between her and Dick. Apparently, they had a big fight. I wasn’t on the feeds at the time, but TheRealDeal2006 posted the video on YouTube. Thanks to nwokpeach, brando115 and insane on BB Chatter for the link.

Joe evicted, Dick is HOH

Joe was evicted tonight in a 9-1 vote. Dick won HoH! Awesome!!! Hopefully Kail, Jen, Mike or Zach will be evicted this week!

Dick is the HOH for week 3

Veto updates

Danielle used the veto to save herself.

Jen nominated Joe to replace Danielle.

As of tonight, most of the house wants Joe out instead of Dick.

Nick and Zach seem like they want to break out of the Mrs. Robinson alliance.

There has been a lot of talk about getting Kail out next week because she keeps separating herself from the group and never hangs out with everyone else.

Nick is trying to play it down, but his main alliance is to Danielle.

Jen’s Reign of Jealousy

This week so far…

Jen is HOH

She nominated Dick and Danielle (because she’s stupid and ugly and she’s super jealous of Danielle… but that’s just my opinion)

Danielle won POV

Jen, in her red leotard, talks to Joe about vetoThe house was trying to get Jen to replace Danielle with Joe or Zach, but now it looks like Amber will go up instead of Danielle, putting her against Dick.

It seems that Dick will be voted out, but it’s only Monday so things could change before the eviction on Thursday.

Oh, and as a result of the POV competition, Jen has to wear a red leotard for the rest of the week. Awesome. She’s so self-conscious anyway that this should really drive her insane.

Another week of Jen?!

Last night, Carol became the first person evicted from the house in a 10-1 vote. We also learned the results of the America’s Player vote when Eric cast his vote to evict Carol.

Carol’s exit interview with Julie was unbearably boring, she seemed totally stunned by the cameras and lights and she basically had noting to say. When Julie asked her a question, she’d just stare on blankly for a few seconds before her brain could process an answer. The whole thing was dripping with that kind of fake politeness and cheery attitude you normally see in beauty pageants.

There was also a brief biography of Dick, which featured interviews with his son and his mother. It gave a bit more information about his feud with his daughter and why they haven’t spoken in years. Apparently, Dick had loaned Danielle some money, she didn’t pay it back and he “handled it wrong”, according to his son, Vincent. I still wanted to know more, but I think they’re saving it for later in hopes there will be a grand reconciliation between the two family members inside the house.

The second HOH competitionAfter the eviction, all the HGs headed off to the back yard to play the HOH competition. It was a majority-rule
game where they stayed in the game if they answered the same way as the majority of the house. I kept thinking that Joe might win, or possibly Eric. I was already wondering about the influence viewers would have if America’s Player won HOH. Would we be able to control nominations? Maybe we could vote for Eric to nominate Jen and get that annoying skank out of the house forever!

My hopes were shattered when it got down to the tie-breaker question. Julie asked, “How many gallons of water does the teacup in the back yard hold?” Everyone guessed high, over 100 gallons, except for Jen who wrote down 41. I rolled my eyes thinking she was going to be so wrong. The teacup is huge and could probably hold as much as a hot tub.

Julie said the correct answer was nine. Nine?! What?! She explained that, because of the open entrance, it could only hold nine gallons of water. It seemed like a trick question because everyone else seemed to assume she meant the whole teacup if there was a door holding the water in. Maybe I just thought it was a trick question because Jen won and, just like everyone in the house, I can’t stand her.

So this week Jen is HOH and it seems like she’s going to nominate Dick and Danielle. Lame! I don’t like Dick, but I will admit that he keeps the show interesting. Danielle’s also valuable to the entertainment value of the show because Nick seems really into her and their romance could make for good television. Hopefully, one of the less entertaining people will be voted out this week instead so it doesn’t turn boring before things really get rolling in the game.

Jen is HOH

Oh no! No! Say it ain’t so! No!!!!!!!!!! The most annoying person in the house (yes, even more annoying than Joe) is now HOH! This is terrible!

Yuck! Jen is the new HOH!

Eviction tonight

I’ve been a bit bored with the show since it’s all old news at this point.

Hopefully, after tonight’s eviction things will pick up and the show will start to correspond with the stuff we see on the feeds and Showtime.

I’m hoping Amber goes tonight because I think she’s a moron, but it’ll probably be Carol, which is fine because she’s super boring.
We’ll see.

Episode 2 - America’s Player and Jen’s ugly picture

Tonight’s episode would have brought a lot of information to light if I hadn’t already known about it from watching the feeds and BB After Dark.

We learned that Dick’s a name-dropper and that he has never been close with Danielle. I’m still curious to explore Danielle’s past because she stated that her only real parents were her grandparents and Dick has previously mentioned foster care in a conversation about her that was cut-off during BBAD. I think some very dramatic and hurtful stuff went on between then, but I don’t know when, if ever, they’ll want to delve into it on the air.

We also got to see the food competition, which was pretty bland at this point it the game. I don’t have strong feelings for any of the HGs, so it doesn’t really matter to me if they’re on slop or not. The only major highlight of the food competition was Eric (who loudly declares his heterosexuality at every turn) rubbing up Joe with a gleeful eagerness that few straight men would have.

Also, Jen made some harsh comments about Dick when he offered to scrape the fake butter concoction off her body. She said in the diary room that Dick was a creepy old man and she didn’t want him feeling her up. He seemed exceptionally pissed off about this, and I think it was because it’s pretty true. Dick is the old guy of the house and he is vain and wants to seem younger. It kills him for everyone knows he is old enough to have a daughter in her twenties and it kills him to be thought of as the horny old man.

Jen’s ugly pictureAside from the food comp, the only really exciting part of the episode was when Jen had a total meltdown when she saw her picture on the wall. Everyone walked over to check out their pictures on the wall, remarking how they looked or how they had styled their hair. Jen saw her picture, covered it with her hand, and started bawling that she looked ugly and the lighting gave her bags under her eyes that she swears she didn’t have.

Not since Brooke from The Real World flipped out over an invitation to go bowling have I seen a more unwarranted freak out.

Hopefully, someone will post it on YouTube and I’ll be able to put it up on the blog.

The only other segment of note was the first mission assigned to America’s Player, Eric. While most of America hates Eric, he’s the only player in the game we can send on missions, so we have to live with it. I was expecting the option of choosing from various missions for him, or secret assignments. Instead, the AP section said “Eric must make up a dramatic story about his past, who should he tell this story to?” Our only choices are who he gets to make up a lie to? We can only choose who he’ll do something to, not what he’ll do? Lame!

America’s Player seemed like such a cool idea, but it seems like the show really dropped the ball there. I would have changed my tune about Eric if he at least mattered enough to be an instrument of the viewers. Instead, it’s just another dumb twist invented by CBS to try to make viewers think they’re somehow involved in the game and not just reality tv spectators like they are on every other show. If Eric’s only tasks are stupid like this, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he goes next week and we can put this whole stupid America’s Player thing to bed.

As I said, the episode was wholly boring because all this action happened days ago. We’ve known about the nominations, the food competition, the PoV and all the scheming for a long time through the feeds and BBAD. I can’t wait until next week when we’re all caught up and things are happening in real time.

  • Carol and Amber are nominated for eviction because they were the first two off the mushrooms during the first HOH competition
  • Danielle won POV
  • Carol will probably be the one evicted based on what everyone in the house has been saying lately
  • Danielle and Nick seem to be flirting a lot
  • Jen and Mike seem to be flirting a lot (but who really cares because they’re both boring!)
  • Amber seems to follow Dick around and Jen seems to follow Kail around.

  • Danielle used to work at Hooters
  • Carol is freaked out by the cameras and really uncomfortable
  • Joe is convinced next week will be a double eviction

Episode 1 - Introductions and twists

Episode one kicked off a summer of scandal, secret twists, and possibly sizzling moments. At least that’s what we hope for the new season.

A very skinny and unusually tan Julie Chen opened the show tonight, introducing America to the house guests.

The introductions were really corny, as usual. The whole thing always plays out like the beginning of MTV’s Next, that horrible teen dating show. It’s always stupid shots of them acting surprised to get their keys even though there wouldn’t be a camera crew there taping them if they weren’t going to get a key. Then they show a shot of them boxing or something and saying something like “My name’s ___ and I’m going to knock out the competition.” It’s cheesier than a four cheese pizza!

Finally, they got inside the house and got to meet each other. They seemed like a jovial group though you could see where friction might arise. Kail, a mother who confessed that she “practically runs her entire town” is very religious and hates gay people. Joe is a talkative and funny gay guy. Jameka, a school counselor from Mayrland said she’s never been around large groups of white people and she’s the only black person in the house. BB might be stacking the deck, but the scandals usually come from plotting in the house, not casting.

Next, the Chenbot introduced one of the twists of the game. Three players, Jessica (who pronounces her name “Jess-ka”), Dustin, and Dick (who calls himself Evil Dick), were kept in seclusion in a room upstairs. They were watching the HGs on a feed from inside a secret room. Chen announced that they were somehow connected to players in the game. Jessica was a high school enemy of Carol, Dustin was Joe’s ex-boyfriend, and Dick was Danielle’s estranged father.

Ex-boyfriends, old teenage rivals, and even people with opposing religious beliefs are one thing, but a fragile family situation is another. When the secret three were told to go join the rest of the group, Danielle looked really uncomfortable when Dick came down the stairs. As someone who had a very messed up relationship with her father for several years, I think it’s really, really wrong of CBS to put the two together in the house. I know the hope is that being trapped in a house together for three months will improve their relationship, but family pain can go a lot deeper than a TV show and really shouldn’t be exploited for entertainment.

Joe seemed quite uncomfortable with Dustin’s arrival also. He had reason to feel that way considering that Joe had just declared that Dustin gave him gonorrhea live on CBS. Their relationship is sure to be interesting because they both seem pretty similar. They both had some really funny comments and both seem pretty outgoing. They hate each other so much that I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up becoming really close again before the show is over.

Those two scandals made Jessica’s quite forgettable. Apparently, she and Carol were friends at one time in high school, but had gotten into a major fight in part because Carol owed Jessica $5. Compared to a girl with daddy issues and a case of gonorrhea, Jessica and Carol are lightweights.

The other twist in the game this year is “America’s Player”, a house guest who must obey the viewers’ orders. Eric was chosen (by the network I assume) to be America’s Player. Just how much he must adhere to our demands is still uncertain as is the penalty for disobeying.

These first episodes are usually pretty dull. I can never remember all the HGs names, I’m still cloudy on alliances and no one hates or loves anyone else to the point where there will be malicious back-stabbing or hook ups. Still, by midway into the season, we’ll no doubt be looking back on these early episodes and saying, “Remember when…”

Live feed update

I’ll be writing a review of the first episode, but here’s a quick update.

Kail won HoH on the show tonight and it was revealed that Eric is “America’s Player”

According to the feeds it looks like Kail nominated Carol and Amber. The POV is tomorrow, so one of them could win and take themselves off the block.

It looks like Dustin has an alliance with Carol and Amber, but it’s still a bit early to call.

They had a food competition and some of them are on slop.

Also, it looks like the favorite right now is Jameka and the least favorite right now is none other than America’s Player himself, Eric.

More to come.

Big Brother : After Dark

From Morty’s TV:

Big Brother After Dark launching on Showtime
Come July 5, rabid fans of CBS’s Big Brother will have a new way to spy on the show’s sequestered houseguests: the eye will start airing live feeds from the house on one of its sister Showtime channels. Dubbed Big Brother After Dark, the live action in the house will air every night from 12 p.m. to 3 a.m. on SHOTOO, a Showtime channel that airs mostly theatricals and adult flicks and is available in over 14 million homes.

This is awesome news because all the action in the BB house seems to take place between midnight and sunrise and any feeds we can see around that time are way better. Even though the actual events will be occurring between 9PM and midnight BB time, I’m still always happy when there are new, higher-quality ways to watch the live feeds. This is a great new direction for the show.

Welcome to Trashwire’s BB8 Coverage

Years ago, CBS debuted a new reality series called Big Brother. Back then, the cast was older, the show was more interactive, high-speed internet access was rare, and the live-feeds were tiny, grainy images of a chicken coop for most of the day.

Since then, the show has evolved into a summer guilty pleasure with eye-candy abound. Though there have been new twists in the game (the Power of Veto), new architecture in the house (the addition of a second story and HoH suite) and new houseguests to compete (hotties like Kaysar from BB6 and BB7), the show remains the most real of reality tv.

Unlike most reality shows, which are completely at the mercy of their editors, Big Brother offers something different: a live internet feed from inside the house. This allows viewers to watch all the plotting, strategizing, and back-stabbing that takes place during an average day in the house as it’s happening. These live feeds are what make the show so much better than other “reality” programs like Survivor or The Real World.

Big Brother also has one of the most dedicated fan communities on the web. BB fans are up at all house, watching the feeds, taking screen caps, summarizing any updates, and discussing their favorite alliances. While it may not exactly be Monday Night Football, fans of this show are more into it than any die-hard arm-chair-quarterback.

I’ve been a fan of Big Brother since the first season and I only missed one episode due to a huge storm that passed through my neighborhood and knocked out the power.

Last year, I started a blog for Big Brother All-Stars, my dream season, featuring some of my favorite players from seasons past. That blog became pretty popular, and I’ve decided to go for it again this year with Big Brother 8.

This blog will feature updates, commentary, links and even a few screencaps or YouTube videos from this season and maybe even from past seasons too.

Keep checking back here to see what’s cookin’ in the BB house!
