Week 4 – Nominations
At the end of the last show we left off in the HoH competition. Since it was an endurance competition, we did not find out immediately who would be the HoH for week four. Tonight we learned Russell won the competition and is now the Head of Household for week four.
I did predict Russell would win but it wasn’t just because of his upper body strength or his grappling ability. He made a deal with Jeff, who was Russell’s last opponent, to keep Jeff and Jordan safe for this week and Jeff agreed. I didn’t like Jeff agreeing because you really cannot trust anyone in the Big Brother household but it turned out Russell was a man of his word and did not nominate Jeff or Jordan last night.
The one thing I found cool about the competition was I could explain from a scientific/medical perspective what the house guests were going through as they explained how they felt being up on the rope and/or why they felt they had to drop from it as well. I won’t bore you with the details but the geek in me thinks that’s pretty cool. The other interesting aspects (and more important) that came from the competition were Russell and Lydia being eliminated first and winning prizes. It solidified to Jesse and Natalie that both of them are just floaters and are pointless to the game. What I also found interesting about the competition was that Jesse only referred to Chima and Natalie as his only hopes for safety this week. I mentioned in an earlier post that what you see on television isn’t in chronological order so I am wondering if Jesse’s comments were made in the diary room after the nomination ceremony. Its either that or something happened between Jesse and Russell that the viewing audience at home does not know about.
During the show we saw Lydia trying to convince Russell to not nominate her by using her “charm.” I don’t know if you saw it but I wanted to gag. Lydia thinks she can get by on her charms but she isn’t very charming. Her instability is bothersome not just to me but other people in the house as well. At one time she was considered an ally by Jesse but even he wants to see her gone now. Russell did not fall for her tricks and ended up nominating her.
Russell’s other nominee was Ronnie and that wasn’t really suprising. What was suprising was at the nomination ceremony, Russell only had words about why he wanted to nominate Ronnie and see him go home. Ronnie was obviously angry and stopped short of vowing revenge against Russell. Like I said before, Ronnie fears Russell, so he didn’t have one of his asanine comebacks. I think the Lydia nomination was more to appease Jesse and Natalie. I imagine some viewers would have preferred if Natalie or Jesse were nominated but why would Russell do that? Jesse and Natalie are strong competitors and allies so why eliminate one of them? You have to imagine if you are in the house folks and not think with your feelings.
Anyway, the show wasn’t that eventful and you could even say same ole, same ole. Voting for the special power doesn’t wrap up until tomorrow so we won’t find out who gets the special power on tomorrow’s veto show. Ugh.
Till next time, see ya!
