Hey everyone. For those who follow me on twitter, I am still on break from everything social while I study for an upcoming exam but I wanted to remind those Big Brother fans that you can vote for the winner of Big Brother since Chima was evicted from the game (not just house). You are not just voting on who to win but who to win depending on who will make it to the final two.

Personally, I will be voting for either Kevin or Jordan. How about between the two, well, I will keep that to myself for now. Here is the link to vote: America’s Vote!

Stay tuned for my thoughts on the show sometime next week!

We do not know who the final four will be but I would be shocked if it wasn’t Jordan, Kevin, Natalie, and Michele.

Since the last time I posted, Kevin won the HoH, nominated Jeff and Michele, Michele won the veto, and Jordan and Jeff are now on the block. I could end the post here because essentially that is all that happened in the last week.

Jeff is likely to go home tomorrow night despite objections by Jordan. That means three of the four remaining house guests will be floaters. I used to be a fan of floaters but I am starting to understand why most are not. Its just a boring show when there isn’t any real competition. I think Michele should win the game but for some reason everyone seems to hate her. I am not becoming an internet fan of the show so that will always remain a mystery to me. It might be interesting if Natalie won though. For a gifted athlete, she is horrible at winning. On top of that she isn’t really bright. To me she is just eye candy but that got old after a week or so. Kevin has a good chance but he is likely to be evicted next week because he has become a “strong” player as of late. I don’t think America would feel bad if Jordan won because of her family’s situation. In the end, I would like to see Michele win. She has been pretty much a lone wolf for most of the game yet still remains. Good luck Michele!

Honestly, I probably was not going to write a new post about Big Brother 11 until Sunday at the earliest but as I was eating dinner and reading over some tweets, I come across this tweet from @tvguide:

“Big Brother 11’s Chima kicked out of the house by producers for “violating the rules,” according to CBS #bb11“

Why? well, you can read about it at TV Guide or you can read my recap in the next couple of days when I am sure they will go over the reasons why Chima was kicked out tomorrow on Big Brother. Why I will not discuss it now is because I limit my following of Big Brother to what I see on television so to find out the reasons why now would just spoil the episodes for me this week. Don’t fret though, I am not done with this topic or this post just yet.

So if you have been following thus far, you will notice that I am on a bit of a hot streak. Last week was no different. I predicted Jeff would use the power of coup d’etat and remove both Lydia and Russell from the block and replace them with Natalie and Jesse. You have to respect Jesse for calling that this was a possibility all week long. The reason for putting both of them on the block was simple: they had been controlling the house up to this point. Of the original cliques, only the athletes had not lost a team member so even though the cliques were disbanded officially, the cliques continued to exist in an unofficial manner. The producers tried to convince the viewers at home that Russell might remain on the block because of his actions so far in the game but even though Russell has spoken ill of Jeff behind his back, he wasn’t as big of a threat as Jesse and Natalie. Also, Jeff (and probably most of the viewing audience) felt that a message needed to be sent to Natalie and Jesse that everyone is vulnerable in this game. Within 10 minutes of the new nominations Jesse was evicted from the Big Brother house.

Jesse took his eviction well and gave kudos to Jeff for making the best move he has made so far in the game which is absolutely true. Jesse was visibly upset but he respected Jeff’s game play and as of right now, if Jeff were to make it to the finals, I do believe Jesse would give Jeff his vote to win the $500,000. With Russell safe in the house Chima had words for the producers and Jeff. She said she would speak to the producers lately and then called Jeff a liar. I will continue not to say how I feel about Chima because she was raped but if you read what I said about her earlier in the game, that is how I felt about her at that moment and she was not giving me any reason to think otherwise.

I predicted before the eviction show that Chima was likely to be the next house guest evicted but I had second thoughts after Michele won the HoH competition. Obviously I turned out to be right but let me explain why I thought Chima might have been safe this week. I thought the only way Chima would be safe this week was if Natalie won the Head of Household competition but Michele winning is very interesting because while Michele has won a couple of competitions she is still a floater. She will move to the side of the house that she feels is in control of the game. Now she is control of the game and I am not completely sure who she would nominate. This past week she got really close with Chima it appeared but up until Chima won the HoH, Chima was on Michele’s least favorite house guests list. In fact, she voted to evict Chima week one even though Chima was a member of her own team. We are six weeks and I am not sure if a truce for one week can make up for the previous five weeks.

Some will retort that this is just a game but this season, especially this season, personal feelings have seaped into the house time after time. People aren’t letting go of what other house guests have said to them and are even taking it to the next level by targetting those who insulted them regardless of if its smart game play or not. I know it might sound like I still think Chima was going to be nominated even with Michele in the house but Michele and Russell failing to make-up over the lie Michele told made me think Russell once again would be targeted this week. After the HoH ceremony I was starting to think Chima would be safe and Michele might take the safe route and nominate Lydia and Russell again. Russell and Lydia are two of the three most disliked people in the house. Russell because of his instability and Lydia pretty much for the same reason. Sure Michele could nominate Russell and Chima but Chima would have a serious chance of staying and all that would end up happening is Chima getting in Michele’s face because she nominated her. Russell and Lydia are two safe choices because Russell is unstable and Lydia is useless in the game. No matter who of those two went home, Michele would likely be safe next week. In fact, since I am blogging this now, assuming there isn’t an emergency HoH ceremony, I think Russell and Lydia will be nominated tomorrow.

One might make the conjecture that Chima was kicked out because she blew up at Michele for nominating her (nominations take place on Saturday in the Big Brother house) but I don’t think that was the case. Chima only verbally abuses women and so far the producers have let that go. If they warned her in the past to stop and she did indeed go off on Michele for nominating her I can only wonder why they didn’t tell us that on television? That is a seirous warning and because Chima has blown up at someone nearly weekly, they had to expect this could happen. What I think happened instead was Chima attacked Russell. No way she hurt him but likely slapped him because he got in her face about her failing to evict him this week. I hope we find out tomorrow. I think we will but Chima isn’t the first house guest to be evicted by the producers. In a past season, one male house guest was evicted for threatening someone with a knife and the producers just said he was kicked out and did not go into the details why. I am hoping they do things differently tomorrow.

You would think last night’s show would have bored me since I predicted who Chima would nominate for eviction but apparently you haven’t been following my thoughts. Shame on you!!!

Actually the show was pretty boring but there were definitely some interesting points. The first was concerning a secret Chima revealed to everyone. She was raped and if that wasn’t enough, it was at the hands of a serial killer. I now feel guilty for calling her a bitch and I apologize. I still think her attitude stinks but I think I can understand why she is so hostile. Maybe she was like this before being raped but it doesn’t matter. Having something that horrific happening to her gives her a pass in my book.

The next interesting point was the continuation of the Lydia, Natalie, and Jesse love triangle. Lydia is still pursuing Jesse and while she may not admit it, Natalie has it bad for Jesse too. How does Jesse feel? Well, I can’t help but recall what he said in the diary room that he doesn’t like getting close to people. I see more of a chance of him hooking up with Natalie but he is going to be very guarded about it. In other words, don’t expect anything to happen anytime soon.

The last interesting aspect of the show was a proper explanation of the Coup d’Etat power. I thought Jeff could only decide who comes off the block but apparently he can also select who goes up on the block as well!! Woah, could this be the first time Natalie goes up on the block? If Jesse or Natalie don’t win the veto tomorrow night, expect one of those two to be going home.

Tomorrow’s veto show is actually worth watching! You know what else is also worth checking out? My thoughts! Till next time….

Welcome back to my thoughts on the week 3 evicition show. If you are a regular reader please read the note I have at the very bottom of this entry. If you aren’t a regular reader you are welcome to read the note as well but it probably won’t bother you as much. And now my thoughts.

This wasn’t a show I was looking forward to because one, I don’t like the eviction shows and two, the game is getting less and less climatic as the weeks go by. Instead of doing an episode recap, I jotted down some thoughts as I was watching the show. Its essentially a recap but not as animated as my earlier ones.

As with every eviction show, the house guests discussed the veto show and I liked Jeff’s analysis. On this past week’s veto show, Jesse nominated Casey but he did it with little class. Backdooring someone is bad enough but he added a little joke before it and when he delivered it he wore sunglasses. If you are going to be an ass, be upfront about it. I used to be very critical of Alexis, owner of trashwire.com, of her endorsement of a past house guest, Evil Dick. I now am really starting to appreciate the guy more and more. Few would argue that he was a cruel man but if he wanted to take a shot at you, he would do it straight to your face. Jesse didn’t do that during the veto ceremony and I am disappointed because I was really rooting for the guy but his attitude continues to disappoint.

The next note I had written down was about CBS abandoning its early season efforts to make Lydia America’s favorite in favor of making her seem like a crazy person. Lydia does have strange tendencies like sneaking into Jesse’s bed to watch him sleep. The idea of a woman sneaking into my room to watch me is sexy but in actuality, I would freak out if I woke up one day to see a strange woman (no matter if I had a thing for her or not) was staring at me. Its creepy. Stuff like that should be kept in your fantasies or reserved for people in established relationships. I know I just took Lydia to task but I’m also taking the producers of the show to task here as well. They air this segment on the night they announce that America has the opportunity to grant one house guest the power to replace nominees at will even if they are not the HoH. After watching that segment about Lydia, who is going to want to vote for her? Lydia has done damage to her reputation since week one but the producers did not need to pile on by airing that segment tonight.

I noted next Casey’s and Kevin’s conversation about getting votes. I respect Casey for reminding his fellow housemate why he should remain in the house but unfortunately the numbers will work against him. I think if they informed the house guests earlier that the teams would be disbanded tonight, things might have turned out differently but timing is everything right? This thought came to mind because in order for Casey to win he would need someone from the athletes to vote for him and the only person I could think of was Russell. As soon as I had that thought written down, Kevin brings up the possibility of recruiting Russell. I thought it was a long shot but it was Casey’s only shot to remain in the house.

Casey would also need Jeff to vote for him and I knew that was unlikely to happen since Jeff is in a shomance with Jordan. If you weren’t sure if he was, Big Brother aired a special segment highlighting it tonight. Yawn. I was hoping the producers would bring how Jeff had a tough decision this week on who to vote out but they did not.

We are brought back to the living room and once again the producers want to discuss the Natalie, Lydia, and Jesse love triangle. Between this dribble and that of the shomance between Jeff and Jordan, I am reminded again why I rarely watch reality, competition based, shows. I am more interested in the competitions but I guess most of the viewing audience isn’t because shows like Big Brother go out of their way to highlight points that have little to do with the competition. These relationships are worth noting but I wish they wouldn’t discuss them in such length.

The eviction ceremony happened next and I applauded Casey’s speech. I have said in the past how I don’t like cheap shots during eviction speeches but Jesse and Ronnie deserved what they got from Casey. They fired the first salvo by their actions this week and second, Casey’s speech really wasn’t just a jab at his two fellow house guests. He took the time to remind his fellow house guests that Ronnie and Jesse have been running the game so far and its time to rise up. I thought that might convince some people to change their votes last minute but it did not and Casey was evicted 7-1. Russell was actually the one person who voted for him and I am curious why but I am sure they will discuss it on Sunday’s show.

We finish the show with the HoH competition but we do not know who is the next HoH because its an endurance competition. I am sure its completed by now but I am a Big Brother tv fan not a Big Brother internet fan so I am not looking for any spoilers. I think Russell has the best shot at winning because he knows how to grapple and seems to have the most upper body strength which will lend well to this competition.

I want to finish off this post with some thoughts on all the house guests.

Kevin – classic floater. Kevin has contributed little to the game and has hid behind Lydia for most of it. I think he tries hard but is rarely ever successful.

Lydia – Crazy. I think she might be bipolar because she is happy one second and then is angry a few minutes later. I was open to rooting for her early in the game but her mental instability has become a real turn off for me.

Natalie – becoming less and less appealing. Game wise, Natalie is on the cusp of greatness. She does well in competitions and is part of the strongest alliance in the house. Personality wise though, I’m not fond of her as I once was. Over the past month her attitude has become more and more abrasive. She isn’t cocky but she often resorts to anger instead of calm discussion and to me that’s a turn-off. You may not see me fawn over her much anymore for the duration of the show.

Michele – my new favorite house guest. This past week Michele really stepped up by winning the veto ceremony and she seems to be the only one in the house, now that Casey is gone, who has a good read on people and doesn’t forget what she learned about them. Ronnie should be out the door but she sniffed out before the veto ceremony that was unlikely to happen. Michele is not a floater but isn’t a very strong player either. She will need some breaks but she could last long.

Chima – floater. I don’t like Chima. I don’t like her attitude or respect her intellect. She has done nothing so far that demonstrates she wants to be in this game.

Ronnie – Great gamer but so obnoxious. Ronnie could go far but he has to stop self inflating his head (either head would do fine here) when things go the way he wants. Even if he makes it to the finals he is likely to lose and I have to believe America is gunning for him to go home so I think Ronnie needs to get himself grounded fast.

Jeff – Jeff isn’t a floater but isn’t a great player either. He is a couple of steps below Michele. Jeff used to be a favorite of mine but I don’t know if he has the mental know how to get through this game. I respect the guy but I am not so sure he will get so far in this game.

Jordan – floater. Jordan should consider this a compliment because just the way she carries herself, she has to work herself up to the level of floater. She isn’t very athletic or bright or creative but as Casey said, luck has a lot to do with this game and so far she has gotten some of that. For her sake though, I hope her luck does not run out.

Russell – Top teir. Maybe its because CBS has focussed less on him this past week but it seems Russell has gotten his emotions back in check. Russell is a classic competitor and thinks like one. He could get very far in the game. I would root for him but there is a dark side to him which makes me hesitant.

Jesse – Top tier but is running into the same trouble as last year. I respect Jesse’s game play and understand why he didn’t send Ronnie home but Natalie selected who he should evict this week and Lydia/Russell selected who he should evict week one. Jesse has gotten his way but always conveniently makes sure its along the same lines as someone else’s way in the house. I haven’t really seen a decision made from Jesse that was all Jesse; so far his decisions have been influenced by outsiders.

That’s it for this week folks! Thanks again for checking out my thoughts. Now for a brief note about the future my thoughts here on trashwire.com.

—————————–

I might have mentioned before that I am a student but I don’t think I mentioned that I am a medical student. Anyone who is in graduate school knows, classes start a bit earlier than when you were an undergraduate or even in grade school or high school and for me, the semester starts in a little over ten days. As a result, I am not sure how frequently I will post my thoughts. I am an avid fan of the show but I know what my priorities are and can’t promise to dedicate the three hours a week to Big Brother plus the additional time to write up thoughts. I am pretty sure I will have future thoughts but if the frequency declines, I just wanted to give you guys a heads up why.

Here on the East Coast, the Eviction Show is about to start and I thought I would get down some predictions before someone is evicted from the house.

Your nominees for this week are: Jordan and Casey.

My prediction:

Jeff – Casey
Chima – Casey
Natalie – Casey
Russell – Casey
Michele – Jordan
Lydia – Jordan
Kevin – Jordan
Ronnie – Casey

Unfortunately, Casey will be evicted tonight. Its unfortunate because this was yet another week The Outsiders had a chance to stand up to the Athletes but they don’t have the numbers this week. I was thinking about Jeff maybe voting for Jordan to leave instead to make a point but it would be pointless because the tie breaker would go to Jesse who will certainly evict Casey.

I will miss Casey but he got too comfortable. He assumed he was safe this week and while he seemed like a bright player that is a simple assumption he should have known not to make.

In other news, Michele is starting to seem attractive to me and if you read my previous posts you would understand why. In case you have not, its because Michele really showed some brains this week and as I have said before – brains and gumption go a long way in my book. She focused on getting the veto because she understood you can never assume you are safe. People lie in this game and they won’t hesitate to do it to your face. Good for her for saving her own butt. She might vote Casey out if she doesn’t feel he has the votes to stay.

The big surprise tonight I believe will be the end of the alliances and everyone plays for themselves. It won’t change the game dramatically because alliances have already been well formed. The two people who should be most concerned are Jeff and Chima. Jeff because he did not mesh with the athletes from the get go and in the brains clique, Chima is dead weight. She is just dead weight period.

Enjoy tonight’s show folks and remember to come back to trashwire.com for my thoughts of tonight’s eviction show.

Memphis won the PoV and said he plans to take Dan off the block so that Renny will go up. Of course, they plan on voting her out. It’ll be sad to see Renny go because I would have loved her and Dan in the final two, but as long as Dan doesn’t go home, somebody’s gotta go.

It’s a good plan for Memphis because he can be double covered if he keeps Keesha and Dan. He’s made deals with both of them to go to the final two. All he needs to do now is have them get rid of Jerry, then throw the final HoH knowing that either of them will take him to the finals and he still looks like the good guy because he remained a floater and didn’t piss anyone off.

Also, according to Morty’s TV the double eviction episode received really high ratings. Good going CBS!

Personally, I’ve found this season rather boring. The past few seasons have been pretty bland, in fact. If it weren’t for Dick Donato, BB8 would have sucked and BB9 was pretty much a wash with two douche bags making it to the finals and an annoying lactating stripper leading the God Squad to victory over and over. The only redeeming factor in that entire show was James and his kooky antics.

Anyway, we’re getting down to the wire and I’m going to try to amp up my coverage and return to live blogging during the shows… but don’t hold me to that. With the DNC over, I should have more free time.
