Thoughts on Week 1’s veto ceremony and evictions (Part I)

Initially, I was just going to reflect after I saw both shows but I got drawn in so I decided to write down some of my feelings as I was watching the show.

The Week 1 Nominees are…

Lydia and Chima.  I am a bit dissapointed because I do like Lydia but as Jesse not so eloquently put it, its part of the game.  I am going to put the nominations aside for a moment and discuss my impressions of the show.

Braden is the first person evicted from Big Brother 11

View Braden’s eviction commentary…

We are going back to High School!

Hey everyone.  As may have noticed, I am not Alexis,  I am Dean, an avid follower of Big Brother and of trashwire.com.  This season Alexis has allowed me to post my thoughts on Big Brother with all of you and I am really excited about it!  A couple of things to note before I get started: 1.  I am a full-time student and I do work.  While I would like to watch every episode as it happens, it doesn’t always work out that way.  I will likely see every episode but its unlikely to happen on the day it airs.  2.  I am not a super-fan.  There was a time when I wanted to watch the live feeds and see whats going on in the house 24/7 but not anymore.  Lets be honest, the quality of the show and contestants have gone down a bit in the last few years.  I think thats it.  Read my recap of episode one “after the jump.”

Dan wins 7-0

Hooray! Dan won the grand prize!

Keesha won the $25,000 audience prize, voted on by viewers.

If you bought the live feeds, make sure to call Real Player to cancel.

Dan wins final HoH, takes Memphis to final two

Dan won the final HoH and evicted Jerry, making him and Memphis the final two and guaranteeing one of them $500,000.

I’m psyched because Dan’s my favorite! I think everyone will realize what a great game he’s played and vote him the winner.

Keesha’s out, Dan wins HOH part 1

I’ve all but checked out on blogging about this season… but I’m still around to give you the quickie updates until we finally arrive at the finale night.

Keesha was evicted, but thinks Memphis double crossed her and Dan had her back. She doesn’t know about the Dan-Memphis Renegade alliance.

They’re planning to get rid of Jerry after the HOH is done and take each other to the final two.

I’m hoping Dan wins, natch!

Dan might make it

Memphis won the PoV and said he plans to take Dan off the block so that Renny will go up. Of course, they plan on voting her out. It’ll be sad to see Renny go because I would have loved her and Dan in the final two, but as long as Dan doesn’t go home, somebody’s gotta go.

It’s a good plan for Memphis because he can be double covered if he keeps Keesha and Dan. He’s made deals with both of them to go to the final two. All he needs to do now is have them get rid of Jerry, then throw the final HoH knowing that either of them will take him to the finals and he still looks like the good guy because he remained a floater and didn’t piss anyone off.

Also, according to Morty’s TV the double eviction episode received really high ratings. Good going CBS!

Personally, I’ve found this season rather boring. The past few seasons have been pretty bland, in fact. If it weren’t for Dick Donato, BB8 would have sucked and BB9 was pretty much a wash with two douche bags making it to the finals and an annoying lactating stripper leading the God Squad to victory over and over. The only redeeming factor in that entire show was James and his kooky antics.

Anyway, we’re getting down to the wire and I’m going to try to amp up my coverage and return to live blogging during the shows… but don’t hold me to that. With the DNC over, I should have more free time.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

Jerry won HoH and I don’t doubt that he’ll nominate Dan for eviction. Since everyone now knows Dan’s a good player, he might go home this week!

Dan’s pretty much the only reason I watch this mess anymore and, if he leaves, I’m canceling me feeds ASAP. What am I gonna watch? Keesha’s squeaky annoying voice saying “I seen….” for another few weeks!?

Double eviction

In the recap, they showed Ollie throwing a temper tantrum over getting outsmarted by Dan. He threw furniture and tried to trash the back yard. I’m actually shocked BB didn’t step in and tell him to knock it off. He’s a moron and he was just angry because it took him this long to realize that.

Tonight was a double eviction episode. Michelle was evicted. Only Ollie voted to keep her in the house.

Then, after the break they had the next HoH competition. The competition was about fake headlines and it came down to a tie between Jerry and Keesha. In the tie breaker question, they both answered the same and forced a second tie breaker. In the end, Keesha won and nominated Jerry and Ollie for eviction.

During the veto, Dan was super pumped up and won. Of course, he didn’t use it and Ollie was evicted in a unanimous vote.

Ollie left like a grumpy child and pouted his way out the door. He proved he was stupid when he sat on the couch with Julie and said he didn’t understand why Dan would do it. Apparently he doesn’t understand that this is a competition and you have to eliminate people who are coming after you in order to advance to the next week.

The final five house guests are Dan, Renny, Keesha, Memphis and Jerry.

Dan is either very smart or very stupid

I’m not quite sure how I feel about Dan’s whole HoH week. His initial deal with Ollie was stupid and the fact that he honored the deal was even worse. I don’t think that he understands that, no matter how much power you claim you gave Ollie in the deal, you’re still the one who makes the nominations. When you’re the person who puts the keys in the box, you’re responsible.

Then, I thought Dan might have redeemed himself when he stirred up all that arguing during the veto ceremony. It was very Dr. Will to try to get everyone to fight with each other and ignore you. However it was still a dumb move because he ended up pissing off Memphis with the nominations, Ollie with the replacement nomination, and everyone else with the “take a gamble” antics during the PoV ceremony.

Now his plan seems to have not worked as he’s pissed off everyone in the house and they’re starting to see that he’s trying to play a strategic game, not a weak floater game as he originally tried to convince them. Unfortunately, his strategy was stupid and could end up costing him down the line. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was gone in the next two weeks. I can only hope that someone gets rid of horrible Keesha first.
