Do you like Reality TV?
If you do, Trashwire has a brand new blog just for you! Inspired by all the positive response to our Big Brother Blog, Alexis recently started TheTVGeek.com, a brand new companion blog to Trashwire that will focus on reality tv. Don’t expect to see coverage of the huge juggernaut shows like American Idol or Survivor here. This blog will cover some some of the best guilty pleasure shows on TV as well as some smaller shows you might have missed. Want to know who got kicked off Celebracadabra? Looking for behind the scenes clips from American Gladiators? Alexis will also keep you informed with reality updates and video clips from your favorite shows. Here’s an example post from TheTVGeek… It seems that RuPaul will be hosting his very own America’s Next Top Model type show … Read entire article »

Charlie Rose sacrifices face for MacBook Air
This isn’t exactly news, but on March 17th, Charlie Rose appeared on his show with a pretty noticeable black eye. Techcrunch solved the mystery by asking the show’s producers: Rose tripped in a pothole while walking on 59th Street in Manhattan. He was carrying a newly purchased MacBook Air and made a quick (but ultimately flawed) decision while falling: sacrifice the face, protect the computer. “In doing so, he pretty much hit the pavement face first, unfortunately,” This proves that people would rather smash up their own faces than try to wrestle with Apple’s warranty policies… but unfortunately it does nothing to confirm the existence of an Old Man Fight Club. … Read entire article »

The Dark Knight vs Batman
Lots of people on the internet have been buzzing about this video showing the trailer for the upcoming film The Dark Knight shown side by side with the Batman trailer from 1989. I can’t be totally sure if the ’89 trailer was re-cut to match or if it really is just that similar, but now you can judge for yourself by checking out the video here: See more funny videos at CollegeHumor … Read entire article »

MacBook Air or WMD?
It seems that airport security is not quite up to speed on the latest technology. A man was recently stopped after security scanners didn’t believe his MacBook Air was a real computer. Macuser.com had the story: Programmer Michael Nygard travels a lot—for business, you see. He’s got his routine down to a science, from airport to hotel, and so he was surprised and dismayed to suddenly find himself in an airport security holding area while TSA agents cautiously inspected his suspicious laptop. “‘There’s no drive,’ one says. ‘And no ports on the back. It has a couple of lines where the drive should be,’ she continues….” Holy bomb-in-a-laptop, Batman! It seems like TSA agents aren’t trained in keeping up to date with technology. It wasn’t until a younger agent who’s familiar with these crazy … Read entire article »

Hulu could be awesome
By now I’m guessing a lot of you have heard about Hulu, the new video site which features network TV and full length movies. I posted a clip on here from Saturday Night Live with Jonah Hill that was up on Hulu. The site provides higher quality video and legit content (no user-created stuff) including some videos exclusive to Hulu. Best of all, you can watch full episodes of some of the best TV shows, like, oh, say…30 Rock!!! The only downside is that you have to sit through about three commercials within each show. While I doubt this will replace anyone’s TV or iTunes, it is certainly a great way to catch up on episodes or clips you might have missed. No more do you have to worry about embedding a … Read entire article »

Entertainment Weekly lists 20 Most Appalling TV Shows Ever
I just had to jump on this one! EW.com has published a list of the 20 worst TV shows of all time, including photos. Making the list were some of Trashwire’s favorite trashy reality shows including Britney Spears’ home-made series Chaotic, the Paula Abdul mood-swing-a-thon Hey Paula!, trash classic The Anna Nicole Smith Show, the Fox plastic surgery give away The Swan, the delightfully infamous Kid Nation, the crap-tacular Cheaters, almost the entire family of Flavor Flav dating shows on VH1 as well as nearly ever program on MTV including the often ripped on My Super Sweet 16, my personal favorite reality show Big Brother, the series that made Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie household names (and made me wanna slit my wrists) The Simple Life, and of course the greatest … Read entire article »

Candy lightbulbs, fun for everyone
The dollar store can be a magical place. At first glance, it can seem like a shop filled with cheap crap that was probably made by little slave children in some foreign country, things that didn’t sell when they were in a real store, damaged or slightly askew goods, and lame little trinkets that make you ask, “Who would buy this?!” But, if you look a bit closer at dollar stores, you will see that they can be a bizarre wonderland of crap-tastic items. During my most recent trip to one of these crap temples, I overheard some of the best conversation and found some of the most unique items that I’ve ever seen. A family friend joined us during this expedition and was shocked, to say the least, at … Read entire article »

What a douche
The other day, I saw this video of a girl crying on YouTube because someone called her a douche. Since then, she has been labeled “Douche Girl” by the YouTube community at large. I find it so amazing that someone would be this upset about being called a name on a website, after all, that’s practically why the internet exists today. Anyway, sit back and enjoy, Douche Girl … Read entire article »

Please tell me this isn’t true
VH1 had this posted on their blog today: Yes, Britney Spears acts totally, effing insane. But it’s not that’s she’s crazy – it’s because she’s pregnant! Again! If this is true, it could mark the start of the apocalypse. They went on to say: According to numerous tabloids, Britney’s been lugging around baby #3 for four weeks. Apparently Brit even emailed around a pic of the ultrasound last week (she knows how to email?) and the rumored father of her baby, producer J.R. Rotem, has supposedly confirmed the news (er, he probably confirmed it by leaving the country). Looks like another Spears spawn will be entering a world of caring parents and kid-safe living… oh, wait, I mean, they WON’T be doing that at all. VH1 claims: But a baby isn’t going to like growing … Read entire article »
