Midway Games Sponsors Movie?

Tweet This is Wil Chinchilla from Trashwire.com and I’m here at SXSW Film + Interactive covering everything that is going on in both festivals. I was at the after party for the new gamer movie 2 Bobs that is going to show again tomorrow. As I was talking to people from promotion I saw a screen that was looping a trailer video. I took a picture of the screen and I wondered why Midway’s Logo would be on the screen if they have filed for chapter 11. Did they sponsor the movie?? If so with what money? This is the picture taken on a very crappy camera phone showing the logo of the very poor company … Read entire article »

Rock Band to make Beatles game

Tweet From Q104.3 Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney hopes a new Rock Band game based on the Fab Four will help to introduce his music to a new generation of kids. The “Hey Jude” hitmakers’ record label Apple Corps. signed a deal with Rock Band manufacturers MTV and Harmonix last year to create a new interactive game based on the Beatles’ music. He says, “It will feature different periods of the band you get early days, Liverpool, then psychedelic, and on from there. “It’s very cool. And I like the idea that the game introduces kids to music, you know?” I may be alone here, … Read entire article »

The Apple TV and Wii controversy

Tweet After apparently kick-starting a war between gamers and Apple geeks on the digg.com comments for my article about the Wii, I decided to explain the actual intent of the article and to address the way I really feel about Apple. First, the “Nintendo Wii beats Apple TV” article was not about who came first in the web video on TV market. In fact, the only thing in the article that even addressed the release date of the products was the quote from Steve Jobs saying that Apple TV was the first time users could easily watch YouTube vids on their TVs. I believe all of us have heard of or possibly tried other methods for watching web video on TV in the past from computers hooked up with composite cables … Read entire article »
