Jason Reitman does it again with ‘Juno’

It should come as no surprise that Jason Reitman has made another stellar film. His first feature, Thank You For Smoking, was a satirical delight adapted from a Christopher Buckley novel and now Juno, written by the insanely talented Diablo Cody, is further proof that Reitman is a master of cynical comedy.  read more | digg story … Read entire article »

… On the subject of ‘Juno’

You can get free tickets to a pre-screening of the film at foxsearchlight.com/juno. This looks to be one of the funniest films to hit theaters this year and you have the chance to catch it before it’s officially released on December 14th. We lucked out and got tickets to it at the 30th Starz Denver Film Festival and we’ll be posting a review here. And on the subject of Jason Reitman… The Hollywood Reporter had this article up and I thought I’d share: Reitman’s YouTube attachment 2 October 2007 (The Hollywood Reporter) NEW YORK — Google’s YouTube will hold a short film contest that will be judged in part by director Jason Reitman. South Park’s Cartoon War

South Park’s epic 10th season is coming out on DVD tomorrow, so I thought it was fitting that I run this article from the Trashwire.com archives. Season 10 had so many great episodes, but I was particularly fond of “Cartoon Wars” for taking on the very network that airs the show…. oh, and for totally ripping on another “controversial” animated comedy in the process. This article was originally posted on Trashwire when the two-part episode first aired back in 2006. In “Cartoon Wars”, a recent two part episode of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone took on Family Guy and its writing staff. Not only did the episode feature a fake translated terrorist threat video which said, “Seriously, Family Guy isn’t that well written,” but it also had Cartman screaming … Read entire article »

Fairly New Streaming Video Anime Website Is Amazing!

Well as a college student I don’t have that much time to finish most anime shows that have started watching. I still haven’t finished Death Note dammit. Due to youtube’s popularity and the ever increasing popular Dailymotion, more and more episodes are being pulled off due to contract violations. I completely think that it is not fair that the content is seen for free in Japan but not in America. It’s like you have to buy DVD’s sometimes, or download the content which is illegal. Streaming is the safest, legal way to watch your anime because you are not keeping the content, and it’s as if you were to watch it on TV. If streaming was regulated then maybe all of these major media companies would just stop pulling content … Read entire article »

Celebrity Jeopardy is back?

I had to absolutely blog about celebrity jeopardy. Not only was it made iconic by Saturday Night Live and Will Ferrell, but it can be very entertaining. (Props to irishred1784) The players for today’s episode are James Denton who plays the plumber from Desperate Housewives, Neil Patrick Harris-NPH! From Harold and Kumar fame and his role as Barney in How I Met Your Mother also, Doogie Houser M.D. The third player is some lady named Bebe from Frasier (Surprisingly I Hate Frasier and Her) The easiest questions in the world were chosen. When you have actors and ask about Broadway regardless of gay or straight, they will get all the answers right. James Denton was obviously holding back. Bebe is fucking annoying and tries to talk to much, she is not a … Read entire article »

New article by Wil up now on Trashwire.com Transformers is actually less than meets they eye by Wil Chinchilla July 20, 2007 Those of you who were fans of the animated series could end up just as disappointed as I was by Michael Bay’s live-action version of Transformers. The Apple TV and Wii controversy

After apparently kick-starting a war between gamers and Apple geeks on the digg.com comments for my article about the Wii, I decided to explain the actual intent of the article and to address the way I really feel about Apple. First, the “Nintendo Wii beats Apple TV” article was not about who came first in the web video on TV market. In fact, the only thing in the article that even addressed the release date of the products was the quote from Steve Jobs saying that Apple TV was the first time users could easily watch YouTube vids on their TVs. I believe all of us have heard of or possibly tried other methods for watching web video on TV in the past from computers hooked up with composite cables … Read entire article »
