As most of you know, I wasn’t a huge fan of TRON: Legacy. One of the reasons was that it felt like a Matrix rip off instead of something that evolved from the visually rad original TRON. In addition, I felt like the characters and the plot were secondary to the effects. It had your run-of-the-mill action movie storyline and the characters were really just caricatures or stereotypes. Looking for an example? Just check out the eccentric chap in the clip below.

If you needed more proof that Twitter is awesome, just take a look at what DListed (via showbizspy.com) had to say about John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston:
Star Magazine thinks they know the real reason why the fartytale romance of this generation was flushed down the toilet. The reason is TWITTER! Jennifer Aniston was apparently completely over John Mayer choosing his Twitter over her twatter.

Showbizspy went into detail saying:

A source says, “John suddenly stopped calling her or returning her emails and when she would finally catch up with him, he’d say: ‘I’ve been so busy with work. I’m sorry I haven’t had time to call you back’.
“Jen was fuming. There he was, telling her he didn’t have time for her and yet his page was filled with Twitter updates.

Basically, this confirms two things: Jennifer Aniston is so boring that people would rather interact with strangers on the internet than talk to her….. and Twitter ...

It seems that airport security is not quite up to speed on the latest technology. A man was recently stopped after security scanners didn’t believe his MacBook Air was a real computer. Macuser.com had the story:
Programmer Michael Nygard travels a lot—for business, you see. He’s got his routine down to a science, from airport to hotel, and so he was surprised and dismayed to suddenly find himself in an airport security holding area while TSA agents cautiously inspected his suspicious laptop.
“‘There’s no drive,’ one says. ‘And no ports on the back. It has a couple of lines where the drive should be,’ she continues….”
Holy bomb-in-a-laptop, Batman!
It seems like TSA agents aren’t trained in keeping up to date with technology. It wasn’t until a younger agent who’s familiar with these crazy new-fangled gadgets came onto the scene and explained to his clueless colleagues that this was in fact a real laptop, ...

Holy bomb-in-a-laptop, Batman!

It seems like TSA agents aren’t trained in keeping up to date with technology. It wasn’t until a younger agent who’s familiar with these crazy new-fangled gadgets came onto the scene and explained to his clueless colleagues that this was in fact a real laptop, but with a sold state hard drive instead of a disc. Oh, and that MacBook Airs don’t in fact have optical drives.

Of course by this time, poor Michael had already missed his flight. So let this be a lesson to all you solid-state hard drive MacBook Air travelers. Get to the airport extra early with that crazy suspicious laptop of yours!

This totally doesn’t surprise me.

First, it’s a cool computer. It looks like it’s from the future. After seeing millions of bulky PCs, the airport security workers were probably shocked to see something light and sleek.

Second, airport security are generally disinterested morons who get off on their own power… at least in most my experiences. I once went through security in Baltimore only to have the guard sexually harass me and tell me I couldn’t get to my flight until I told him if I had a boyfriend and gave him my number. I’m so glad horny fucktards like that douche are our grand line of defense against terrorist attacks!

Anyway, it’s an amusing news story for technology geeks like myself.

By now I’m guessing a lot of you have heard about Hulu, the new video site which features network TV and full length movies. I posted a clip on here from Saturday Night Live with Jonah Hill that was up on Hulu. The site provides higher quality video and legit content (no user-created stuff) including some videos exclusive to Hulu.
Best of all, you can watch full episodes of some of the best TV shows, like, oh, say…30 Rock!!! The only downside is that you have to sit through about three commercials within each show.
While I doubt this will replace anyone’s TV or iTunes, it is certainly a great way to catch up on episodes or clips you might have missed. No more do you have to worry about embedding a YouTube clip on your blog only to find that the network has had it pulled from the site for copyright ...

I can see this being huge for bloggers like myself because I can embed the best sketches from SNL without having to upload them myself or risk dead links on YouTube.

Definitely check out Hulu.com and see for yourself… or just enjoy this FULL EPISODE of 30 Rock.
