Some of your favorite members of the SNL cast might not be around this year. While wirter/performer Tina Fey announced that she was leaving the show to work on her new comedy 30 Rock, apparently Horatio Sanz, Chris Parnell and Finesse Mitchell will also not be returning for the new season.

This is unfortunate because those three men were responsible for some of the most memorable sketches in SNLâs recent not-so-great history. Parnell, in particular, will be missed by fans. As many may remember, last December began the era of ãLazy Sundayä, a hip-hop style video featuring Parnell and castmate Andy Samberg rapping about cupcakes and The Chronicles of Narnia. The song was an instant fan favorite and became a viral video overnight. It even ignited a copyright war between NBC and YouTube, where the video had over 4 million views. Parnell was also prominently featured in the famed ãNatalie Portman Rapä on the show, a sketch which featured the diminutive actress doing a hard core Eazy E style rap. Most recent fans of the show would agree that the digital shorts, like ãLazy Sundayä and Natalie Portmanâs rap performance, were the best part of a show that has seen better days. These videos, by Samberg as well as his friends Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone of TheLonelyIsland.com, brought a much-needed youthful presence to SNL and were able to draw college-age viewers.

While we canât be sure exactly what to expect from SNL in the future, but the departure of some of its best stars could definitely lead to a drop in quality.
