Death to Spammers

First, I want to say that I’m sorry the updates have been so few and far between this week. I’ve been really busy with real life stuff and I just haven’t had time to add anything great. On top of that, I’m still looking for some more writers to help me add some substance to this blog and to the main site. A few people have expressed interest and if you’re reading this and want to contribute, just post a comment here and I can send you an email. Any genre of content will do—celebrity gossip, movie reviews, rants, your favorite quotes, weird news stories from your local paper, web videos—anything is good.

Second, and I know it may seem like I’m just making excuses, the amount of spam posts we receive on an average day has become astounding. I’ve already blacklisted certain IP addresses that have been used by a lot of spammers, but those annoying douches keep thinking of new ways to bug the crap out of me and take all the fun out of having a blog. The main problem is, we get an email every time someone posts a comment so we can moderate them and filter out spam for you, the readers. But… since there have been so many spam messages saying things like “Where to buy cheap pharmaceuticals” and “Get free penis enlargement pills” the inbox has been filling up. For example, in the time it has taken me to write this post, I’ve already received five more emails about comments on the blog that are nothing but spam. Quite frankly, it sucks big time.

I’m going to continue my war with spam posts, but alas, it does take time away from writing new items for this blog. The updates may no longer be daily. In fact, it’s looking like a weekly post might be about all I can swing for now. Again, if any of the readers want to start making posts of their own, just comment here and we can work it all out.
