Bob Saget is mad

It seems that Bob Saget is upset about some of the Olsen twins jokes made during his Comedy Central Roast. Many of the comedians, and even John Stamos (who was the roastmaster of the event) made some cracks about Saget sleeping with Mary Kate and Ashley and now he’s mad.

Saget is quoted in the New York Post saying:

“Anybody who talks about my TV kids – that upsets me the most,” Saget told The Post. “I am very protective. I love them very, very much.”

It’s a roast! The whole point is to make crude jokes. Why do you think they invite superstar bad-asses like Lisa Lampanelli to these things?!

That being said, I can understand how Saget might be pissed. After all, it’s supposed to be the roast of Bob Saget, not of the Olsen twins. I doubt that his anger came from a genuine interest to protect the fine moral fiber of those girls. Instead, I think he was jealous that the attention was off him.

While Saget is ripe for roasting, let’s be honest, there are only so many ways to tell a “your career is in the shitter” joke. The comedians had to branch out to new territory.

The best quote came from Gilbert Gottfried who addressed the potential hurt feelings saying:

“If you are an Olsen girl, you deserve it,” he said. “They’re going to just have to go home and cry in their billions of dollars.”

Cele|bitchy noted that the raunchy jokes might never see the light of day when the show airs on August 17th on Comedy Central:

It’s obviously edited for television – and Bob Saget has editorial approval as well. And he’s made it clear where he stands, so we might be left with 2 hours of watching comedians push their salads around their dinner plates
