Game Changer is maximalist in every sense—from the overstuffed plot to the Instagram-style editing to the elaborate and colorful musical numbers. Even the volume of the movie seems to be cranked up to 11 at all times, blasting your ears with musical stings, sound effects, and thumping beats.
It can all feel overwhelming and undercooked at the same time, but with Ram Charan’s dancing and S. J. Suryah’s delightfully over-the-top villain, there’s still some fun to be had in this Shankar film.
