When the primary antagonist of your movie is a literal talking douche, it’s fair to say that you’re not aiming for intelligent humor. Sadly, Sausage Party feels like a weak attempt to create an edgy animated satire, only aiming for the lowest-hanging comedy fruit and missing the chance to live up to its inventive concept.

Thankfully with Keanu, the answer is no. While there are jokes about periods, bikini waxes, and other more female-slanting topics, this is one of the sharpest shows on Comedy Central—and this is a network that is home to my favorite show of all time, South Park. In the season 4 premiere, Amy Schumer brings her trademark sharp, edgy humor to topics like relationship politics, actual politics, and even the Broadway smash Hamilton, all with her witty and unique spin that we love so much.
‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday’ a genuine delight
This week, the nostalgia gods at Netflix delivered Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, which sees the titular hero befriending Joe Manganiello and going on a road trip. The movie’s funniest moments aren’t a snarky nod to dated nostalgia, they’re genuine and played with conviction, reminding us why we’ve loved Pee-wee Herman for three decades and counting.
