Normally, it’s a bad idea when celebrities blog. They typically have nothing to say, can’t seem to figure out the shift key, and use sentences that run on like a marathon athlete. There are, however, a few exceptions and this is certainly one of them. Trashwire has always had much love for My Chemical Romance, but after reading this review of The Pick Up Artist 2 by lead singer Gerard Way, you’ll understand why I’ve become thoroughly addicted to the revamped My Chemical Romance blog and the band’s twitter posts.

Zack and Miri seems to follow the recipe for a great comedy. It takes one part View Askew cynical humor, one part Seth Rogen, a sprinkle of familiar faces from the Judd Apatow universe, and a little bit of romantic comedy sweetness, all garnished with a dash of full-frontal Jason Mewes, to make something that achieves what Clerks II only wished it could.

The annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington D.C. can be one of the most bizarre and surreal events of the year. Where else are you going to be able to chat with Henry Kissinger and Heidi Montag in the same room? This year’s event marked the fourth time Trashwire has covered the pre-party scene and, as usual, it didn’t disappoint.

R. Kelly is back with more episodes of Trapped in the Closet, airing right now on IFC.com. For those who don’t know, Trapped in the Closet has become a musical sensation and made R. Kelly even more infamous than those sex tapes he made with underage girls. Billed as a “Hip-Hopera”, Trapped is the story of Sylvester (played by Kelly), a Chi-town gangsta who becomes a key participant in the scandalous world that surrounds him. The story line is like something out of Jerry Springer, but set to a simple melody that seems to keep going like the Energizer Bunny.

Hot Rod is the feature film debut from The Dudes of The Lonely Island. For those who might not know, The Lonely Island is a California comedy trio composed of Andy Samburg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer, who also directed Hot Rod. These three childhood friends began thelonelyisland.com and created various amazingly funny shorts and music videos. Since they joined the SNL crew, they have created some of the most memorable content in the show’s history with their Digital Shorts like “Lazy Sunday” AKA The Chronicles of Narnia Rap or their hilarious music video parody with Justin Timberlake, “Dick in a Box”.

Years ago, CBS debuted a new reality series called Big Brother. Back then, the cast was older, the show was more interactive, high-speed internet access was rare, and the live-feeds were tiny, grainy images of a chicken coop for most of the day. Since then, the show has evolved into my favorite summer guilty pleasure with eye-candy abound. Though there have been new twists in the game (the Power of Veto), new architecture in the house (the addition of a second story and HoH suite) and new houseguests to compete (hotties like Kaysar from BB6 and BB7), the show remains the most real of reality tv.

Yesterday, Apple announced that it’s Apple TV will soon be able to stream YouTube videos. Apple CEO Steve Jobs was quoted saying, “This is the first time users can easily browse, find and watch YouTube videos right from their living room couch.” After reading the quote, I was left feeling a little confused.
