‘Jackie’ provides an extremely layered look at a largely unexplored perspective of one of the most analyzed events in US history. Portman’s well-studied portrayal shows us Jackie Kennedy’s isolation, coming at a time which the history books have always held up for its unity.
As far as I’m concerned, Leonardo DiCaprio should already have several Oscars on his shelf. ‘The Revenant’ could very well be the film that finally scores him some Oscar gold, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s his best film. Brutal and beautiful, this film has racked up lots of nominations from professional and critics groups already—and it deserves the accolades, but will this be the one that finally secures a DiCaprio win on Oscar night?
