‘The Drama’ Could Become the Most Discussed Film of the Year

Robert Pattinson and Zendaya star in The Drama, Kristoffer Borgli’s jet-black comedy about a happily engaged couple whose love is put to the test after a shocking revelation during a party game.

If you go into Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama thinking you’re about to watch a cute little romcom starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, you’re in for a big surprise. While the film does have romance and some pitch-black comedy, it’s definitely not the traditional romcom.

Pattinson and Zendaya star as Charlie and Emma, a couple very much in love and planning their wedding when a fun little game of “what’s the worst thing you’ve ever done” throws their relationship into turmoil.

Suddenly, questions arise about whether people can genuinely change, how much we can really know someone, where we draw the line and decide someone is irredeemable, and if true love is actually unconditional.

This movie has a very twisted and dark sense of humor, something that’s bound to rub a lot of people the wrong way, but I found it very funny—and surprisingly emotional at times.
