‘Back to Black’ suffers from the same issues as so many musician biopics: telling a true story and appeasing the estate that holds the music licensing rights.

Annette is weird, it’s a musical, it’s over two hours long, and it features a marionette as a main character. It’s about as far from a Marvel movie as you can get.

Like with Michael Jackson and David Bowie, I couldn’t even conceive of a world where the was no Prince. He’s engrained in the cultural backbone of generations, and people like that never truly die. Magic Mike XXL isn’t exactly an Oscar contender, and it’s not trying to be. Despite an unnecessarily long runtime, the movie still delivers enough of the goods (read: shirtless dudes with amazing bodies) to be enjoyable.
Into The Woods had me looking for a break in the forest to escape to. The only things that kept me in the woods were Meryl Streep and Chris Pine. Streep, who played the...

Gerard Way is far beyond a simplistic lyricist, he is a storyteller. The first issue of The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys carries his powerful message of never giving up in a rambunctious thrill ride with Becky Cloonan’s art work as a brilliant compromise of their colorful, futuristic world, while also feeling like a familiar canvas of early 90’s titles.
Nothing good came of Seth MacFarlane’s Oscar hosting, except this!
