Sofia Coppola stans might find ‘On the Rocks’ too mainstream and simple, but the chemistry between Bill Murray and Rashida Jones carries the story.

It’s hard to do a sequel 10 years and several Oscar nominations down the road from an original idea, but ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ manages to give us something fun and entertaining, even when it’s not quite as great as the original.
Remember when The Interview came out and everyone decided that seeing a silly little comedy was some kind of patriotic act of defiance to North Korea? For me, when it comes to Disney classics, there are old-school movies like Snow White or Pinocchio, and there are ’90s hits like Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Originally released in 1967, The Jungle Book falls into a sort of gray area between the two, so it seemed to most ripe for revival in the form of a CG-filled reboot. Thankfully, Jon Favreau’s take on The Jungle Book keeps all the spirit of a great Disney movie while letting the technology shine with superb CG.
Rock the Kasbah is a movie with so much potential. It stars Bill Murray, features Zooey Deschanel, Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Scott Caan, and Danny McBride. Murray even promoted the movie by showing up at Comic Con for the first time to do a genuinely funny panel and answer fan questions. With all that going for it, it’s such a shame the movie misses the mark by a mile.
