Director Na Hong-jin’s South Korean creature feature, Hope, is a wild cinematic swing, and it might just be one of the craziest films you see this year.  

Something strange is happening in the remote fishing village of Hope Harbor. The police chief (Hwang Jung-min) and his rookie deputy (Hoyeon) investigate, joined by a group of local hunters led by Sung Ki (Zo In-sung). Soon, the crisis escalates from a few dead cows to full-on chaos when a mysterious creature wreaks havoc on the town. 

Hope moves at a breakneck pace, with incredible tension-building, thrilling car chases, and some of the most breathtaking landscapes you’ll see all year, but the film has also proven to be divisive for audiences, with a wild shift in the second half that seems to either hit or miss for people.
